There are three important parts to any wedding. The ceremony of course and the dancing with drinks at the end, but in the middle there is the food! Wedding food come in a variety of styles. Some weddings may choose to have a simple potluck type meal where everyone brings something. This tends to be for smaller weddings with a very tight budget. Other weddings will go all out for the meal and pick the most extravagant foods they can find. In some weddings, the couple’s parents will host a small snack at their home while the happy couple is having pictures taken. No matter what is served, wedding food is always good food!
In preparation for the wedding and the food, the bride, groom and usually the mother’s of the couple will attend a tasting of the food. The caterer or the restaurant of the hall they have chosen will prepare samples of the food the couple may be interested in. This is an easy way to find out how the food will taste before making the deposit. However, things to remember would be that the caterer of your choice will be cooking for a large number of people at once. One food critic suggests selecting entrées that taste better as leftovers. Her pick for her wedding was lasagna from a local, hometown restaurant. Another important fact to keep in mind is the taste of your guests. Not all of the guests will be meat eaters, so having two choices of the main entrée is always a good idea.
Along with main entrees, there are the appetizers and of course the wedding cake. Those are a most when planning wedding food. Choosing a cake with different layers that include different cake flavors and/or fillings is an excellent way to go. Planning for hundreds of people can be very stressful, but keep in mind who’s wedding it is and what you want comes first. Most guest will always remember what was served at your wedding and just how good it was!
