Wedding Musicians

Wedding MusiciansPlanning an upcoming wedding can be one of the most exciting, yet nerve-wracking experiences of a person’s life. A key element in the decision process is finding the best wedding musician for the big day. The first item to consider is what kind of music you want. The type of music is a critical decision because it will set the tone of the entire day. Will you have rock n’ roll or classical or something in between that hits the smooth jazz range? The music will also have a tendency to be a shining reflection of the couple’s personality and style.

The second element to consider for engaging in nuptials is what type of wedding musician you will have. The type of music will naturally lead the decision process in this vein. For instance, if you want to have classical music, you will most likely choose a string quartet or a similar group. If you want big band music, you will, naturally hire a big band. If you want pop hits, get a singer or cover band. A cover band is a group of people who can sing songs that sound somewhat like the band that originally sang it for the radio.

When deciding on something as important as a wedding musician, you may not want to be limited by anything but your own imagination, but the truth is, it usually comes down to budget. Some amateur performers will get on stage for next to nothing, if not free as a favor. But for the day to be what you really want it to be, you will want to shell out some cash. Expect to pay in the range of $50-$500 per performer and you may have to pay up to $500 of travel related costs, depending upon how far away the band, group or singer has to travel.
